Every house is built upon a foundation. Vineyard is built upon the foundation of our theology, how we think about God, and our values, the kinds of ideas and attitudes that reflect who we are as we seek to be like Jesus.
VISION STATEMENT
To grow together closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
OUR PURPOSE
Jesus said to go and make disciples... The best way to do this is to be an example, a voice, and a body of people educating others in the truth of Jesus.
WE BELIEVE
In the one triune God who exists in - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, (Matt. 28:19), who created and rules the heavens and the earth and who works to redeem mankind and all creation.
In the full humanity and deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His atonement for our sin, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (John 1-18; 1 Cor. 15:3-6; 2 Cor.5:21; Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 5:16-17).
In the Holy Spirit, in the third Person of the Trinity, who regenerates, sanctifies, guides, and empowers through His gifts to all believers. (1 Cor. 12:4-11; Gal. 5:16-23; Tit. 3:5)
That the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and wholly authoritative Word of God, and that it is our standard guide for faith and practice. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
That all men and women are sinners and can only be justified by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as a free gift of God. (Eph. 2:1-10)
In water baptism and an open communion table for all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:19-20; 1 Cor. 11:23-26)
In the visible and bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth and the resurrection of all men and women to a final judgment: eternal blessing for the righteous and eternal punishment for the wicked (Matt. 25:31-46)
We Value
RESPONSIVENESS TO DIVINE INITIATION.
We want to discern indications that God is initiating and blessing certain decisions, actions, and ministries before we commit to do them (John 5:19,30). We discern these through the inseparable ministry of the Word and the spirit. This includes seeking righteousness in completely truthful, consistent, and open relationships with God, with each other, and with ourselves as defined by the Spirit inspired Word.
RELATIONSHIPS.
We want our relationships to be primary, not instrumental: for individuals to be valued and to experience being loved in every transaction of ministry. Moreover, our faith and ministry must take place in the context of meaningful community.
REALITY.
We want every expression of ours (whether speech, music, architecture, or manner) to be authentic, non-hyped, natural, and reality based. This includes relevance in our use of music, terminology, and outreach methods that are in touch with the needs of the community and current with its culture.
